Job Requirement

  • Project Role: Senior Oracle Apps DBA for Support Operations
  • Project Role Description: The Senior Oracle Apps DBA will be responsible for providing support for Oracle applications and databases. The Senior Oracle Apps DBA will work closely with the project team, stakeholders, and clients to ensure that support requests are resolved in a timely and efficient manner.

Technical Expertise

Must Have Skills:

  • Oracle Database Administration: In-depth knowledge of Oracle database administration and maintenance, including database architecture, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and security.
  • Oracle EBS Application Administration: Hands-on experience in installing, configuring, and managing Oracle EBS 12.2, including managing concurrent managers, managing Oracle Workflow, managing Oracle Forms and Reports Services, and managing Oracle WebLogic Server.
  • Oracle EBS Upgrade and Patching: Experience in performing Oracle EBS upgrades and patching to maintain a stable and secure system.
  • Oracle EBS Cloning and Refresh: Experience in cloning and refreshing Oracle EBS environments for testing, development, and production environments.
  • Performance Tuning: Ability to identify and resolve performance issues by analyzing database and system performance metrics, tuning SQL queries, and identifying and resolving hardware and network bottlenecks.
  • Backup and Recovery: Experience in implementing and managing backup and recovery strategies to ensure high availability and disaster recovery for Oracle EBS.
  • Disaster Recovery: Knowledge of disaster recovery planning and execution, including developing and implementing backup and recovery strategies, and testing disaster recovery plans.
  • Security: In-depth knowledge of Oracle EBS security features, including user management, roles, responsibilities, and access control.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Ability to proactively monitor system health and troubleshoot issues as they arise to ensure system availability and uptime.
  • Scripting and Automation: Experience in developing scripts and using automation tools to simplify routine tasks and improve system efficiency.
  •  Communication and Collaboration: Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams, vendors, and customers to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Familiarity with Linux and Unix operating systems

Good To Have Skills:

  • Cloud experience: Experience in migrating Oracle EBS to cloud platforms such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure or Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • DevOps & SRE: Familiarity with DevOps and/or SRE practices, tools, and methodologies to streamline the development and deployment of Oracle EBS.
  • Oracle Fusion Middleware: Knowledge of Oracle Fusion Middleware components such as Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle Service Bus, and Oracle Identity Management.
  • Automation: Experience in automating Oracle EBS administrative tasks using tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) and shell scripting.
  • Soft skills: Strong interpersonal skills, including communication, leadership, and teamwork, to work effectively with stakeholders and team members.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Oracle EBS Patching and Upgrades: Planning, testing, and performing Oracle EBS patching and upgrades to ensure that the system is up-to-date and free from vulnerabilities.
  • Oracle EBS Performance Tuning: Analyzing performance issues and tuning Oracle EBS components, including databases, concurrent managers, and web servers to improve system performance and scalability.
  • Backup and Recovery: Implementing backup and recovery strategies for Oracle EBS components to ensure data availability and disaster recovery.
  • Disaster Recovery Planning and Execution: Developing and executing disaster recovery plans for Oracle EBS environments to ensure business continuity in the event of a disaster.
  • Security Management: Managing security for Oracle EBS environments, including user and role management, access control, and auditing.
  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitoring system health and proactively identifying and troubleshooting issues to ensure high system availability and uptime.
  • Cloning and Refreshing: Cloning and refreshing Oracle EBS environments for testing, development, and production purposes.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Documenting project activities and maintaining accurate records, as well as generating reports to inform management and stakeholders about project status and issues.
  • Mentoring and Training: Mentoring junior DBAs and providing training to other teams on Oracle EBS components and related technologies.

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Expert (OCE) in Oracle EBS or Database.
  • Any Cloud Certifications (OCI, AWS, Azure) – Optional
